Orange

This morning dawned chilly and still, with temperatures in the low 40's. A ghostly mist is rising from the warm lake, shrouding everything in mystery. The barge's thrumming engines reached our ears long before its silhouette emerged from the fog. Autumn is a magical time. Pumpkin orange mornings match the orange mums appearing in cheery pots on front porches, matching the orange tips on the leaves, matching the orange Jack O'Lanterns appearing all around from local pumpkin patches. I love October.

Debi, what an absolutely wonderful photo! I've seen mornings that were shrouded in lavender and even a light gold, but never anything as stunning as this! It's a 'pumpkin sunrise'!

I agree with nancy. Fall is the greatest time of the year. Has always been my favorite.

This is such an unusual sight Debi. I can almost hear the barge rumbling across the lake. It almost appears like a ghost in the fog. You must live on a large lake if there is barge traffic.

Hi guys! I'm glad you enjoy this pumpkin sunrise shot with barge. We live on Wheeler Lake, and the Tennessee River channel is about 2 miles across the lake to the south. Barges, yachts, cruisers, trawlers and the Great Loop boaters are the main event, but we have your basic recreational boaters and fishing boats year round. I love it here.

What?! Fall in the greatest time of year?! Oh, you people!

Great shot though, even if you're crazy.

Autumn IS a wonderful time of the year, Michaela! You'll understand one day....one day....but not soon! Embrace every day and tell us what you're feeling, sensing, hearing, embracing. I love hearing from the youthful about their daily epiphanies. Deal? Be our muse, if you can....
