Viburnum
My office was complete dismantled for several days so hubby could put in a new floor. The new floor is nice, I must admit. I also must admit that I nearly went crazy without my computer. Addicted? Seemingly. Determined not to whine, I hitched up my "big girl britches" to help him as best I could so that the task could be finished asap. During those times he didn't need an extra hand I would go outside (when it wasn't raining) and see how the viburnum was doing.
The couple of branches that have blooms are filling in nicely. The buds you saw a week or so ago are opening to reveal the most exquisite purple and chartreuse green. Bird Girl called this a Korean Spicebush, or viburnum carlesii. Thanks for the ID, Bird Girl (please check out her wonderful blog, My Bird Tales)

Wow, I'm in love with your viburnum. I love, love, love how those tiny purple thingies pop out of the flower in the first photo.
With all the flowers I photograph and all the nature-loving I do, you'd THINK I would know the proper terms for flower parts. But nooooooo, I'm happy to go along and refer to them as "thingies".
Sad? Mmm- maybe distracted by life is more like it!
Hey - glad your floor is all solid and right on , too!
I've been thinking of ripping out an icky green carpet left over from my kids' occupation, and putting down a bamboo floor. Still in the thinking right now, but it would be nice...
Debi, I especially love the first photo! Happy Spring and happy new floor. ;) Hope you have a wonderful week. Diana
These are gorgeous Debi the photographer made them even more so!!
See you tomorrow!!!
Oops! I sure did misread your comment - mea culpa! Okay, if anyone knows what kind of luscious viburnum this is I would be appreciative. Or...I'll just have to come up with a name for it. Purple Luscious Viburnum. Name That Viburnum and win a print!
Hi Debi, the second photo is my favorite of this set. I am so glad that Spring is here!
Lovely flowers! Does the floor look as good?
HA! Yes, in its own darkish woody way, the floor is exquisite! LOL!
i love viburnum...
your photos are lovely.
Oh, the centres of these blooms are an exquisite surprise - how sweet!
Hi Debi. Lush photos! Simply clear white and fresh green sepals and then punctuated with those marroon stamens. Gorgeous. I have a Viburnum carlcephalum that flowers in May which has a scent to die for. Does this one have a scent too?
Well done and the music is awsome!
