Happy Valentine's Day

There hasn't been time or opportunity of late to go outdoors to play and shoot. This shot was taken weeks ago and is underexposed, but I like it. Heron and gull perching on floating brambling wood in the middle of a still, calm slew somewhere within Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. The day was darkly overcast and still with the occasional misty shower. Quiet and still and slow through thoughtful, respectful solitude brings reward.

I wish for you all heartfelt Valentine's Days. Be with the people you love and enjoy the day.

Lovely photo. The under-exposure lends to the feel, the moodiness.

Enjoy a Valentines Day with your loved ones.

Actually, the photo has a wonderful quality in that it puts attention on the gull and heron. I sort of really like it.

What a great shot, Debbie! They look like buddies, standing there, guarding the waters. Hope your valentines day was nice! My 2 boys were away skiing but are on their way home tonight. Will be good to see them. My husband gave me some roses before he left so I had those to keep me company;-)

I get a really peaceful feeling from this scene where not only the gull and the heron have made friends in the moment, but the whole environment comes together to be felt and appreciated for what it is as a collective.
